A Lifetime Original Movie
Premieres September 28 at 8/7c
2 hours
Inspired by a true story, He Slid Into Her DMs stars Courtney Thorne-Smith and Stella Gregg in a Lifetime Original movie about a teenage social media influencer whose stalker shows up on her doorstep after blocking him online. The movie explores the tragic consequences of how online and social media fame can fuel real-world violence.
Inspired by actual events, 17-year-old Berni’s (Stella Gregg) life seemed perfect from the outside; she’s popular, dating the captain of the basketball team, heading to NYU in the fall, and is a burgeoning social media influencer. However, it all is a façade. Berni’s life is a complete mess; her best friend is betraying her behind her back, she’s struggling to gain more followers to potentially financially help her single mother, and her boyfriend Zak (Kane Parks) breaks up with her because she spends more time on her phone than with him. Before eventually getting back together with Zak, Berni strikes up a friendship with Mason, an online fan, and agrees to sell him private photos. However, things turn deadly when Mason shows up on her doorstep, causing her mom Leah (Courtney Thorne-Smith) to make a tragic decision which ends up destroying Berni’s carefully crafted public image.
